Whether you realize it or not, old Muslim communities have contributed much to world just like many other communities did and still do – From trading ports to pottery and improvements to paleolithic technologies, Islamic-centric nations who are naturally rich in religion and cultures thrive in population – And these numbers itself could prove to be one of the most important markets in the world.
CNN reports (Oct. 12, 2009) that nearly 1 in 4 people worldwide is Muslim, where there are approximately 1.57 billion (1,570,000,000) Muslims globally, compared to 6.8 billion (6,800,000,000) of total world population.
In Malaysia alone, 60.4% of our 27.73 million (27,730,000) population in 2008 (now -2009; 28.31 million) consist of Muslims, making Malaysia number 13 in the world’s most densely Muslim populated countries. 60.4% out of 27.73 million people in Malaysia is approximately 16,748,920 Muslims. So if you’re asking “What market” in Malaysia, I bet you already got the answer.
