No blog?
“Why do we take the blog off?” you may ask. Yes, it’s an essential tool in each and every website out there - It speaks for itself. Users get information even faster, without the hassle of waiting for one of our representatives to talk you through important stuff or points we’d want to make. But hey, every company out there have their own way of doing things, don’t they?
Or if you’d prefer, go straight to the Q&A ยป
We want to get personal
Ultimately, you wouldn’t want to have a relationship with someone who’s a million kilometres away. It’s just wrong. You can’t see her, touch her, feel her, hold her, spend time out together, bla bla bla. Well and if, unless, you don’t want the sense of touch and can accept the way technology is able to bring you both together. Sure, you’re still able to see each other through cams and phones and so forth. But to us, we think this way:
“What’s the point of being in a relationship with someone when you can’t see her in person? We can’t email our reproductive juices so that we can get her pregnant. But of course, getting married through webcams or Youtube is possible. We think you get what we mean.”
Somehow, it all boils down to the fact that we don’t want you to be in the deserted island - Information is quick on the net, but nothing beats the ol’ talk-to-you-on-the-phone and meeting up with us for a beer. We want you to see that we’re real.
Blogs = Web 2.0? Yes, but…
Imagine commenting on one of our posts or leaving us a wall message or contacting us through the contact form. You’ll still have to wait for a reply. We don’t want this to happen. What all of us would like is this: Call, answer, talk, meet, benefit. Scrape off all the unnecessary waiting. Life is short. Time is gold. We value your time.
The blog is a great communication tool - But it’s still like reading a virtual book where you can get involved… IF WE CHOOSE TO LET YOU. Worst part is, you/we may not get the feeling like we’re really communicating - It’s like robotic communication. We try to be more human. We want to have feelings for you. And you for us. And us for each other. No, don’t get us the wrong way.
Web 2.0 is a concept. Not a technology. Technologies are created from such concepts. But many may view it differently. That’s why God call us humans - We’re all meant to be physically special, not alike and different. (Siamese twins are different too, mind you)
We’re trend-in, not in-trend.
Web 2.0, social mediums, futuristic communication, enhanced blogging, ADMA, micro-blogging, yada yada yada yada yada. Being trend-in is to be different, still in an acceptable and understandable way. We don’t want to be followers anymore.
If frontier companies in Malaysia can yap, yap, yap all day about how great Twitter or Wordpress or Facebook or whatever mediums that they want to emphasize on again and again, then they’re not really helping you. They’re just opening your eyes, that’s it. It’s still up to you anyway. But hey, what are the chances of you going all berserk after indulging without proper guidance in a technology so utilized already? I bet you’re going to waste your time only.
P/S : That’s why we don’t believe in training courses. They’re commercial-driven.
Going with the flo~
See, when the web started, it was merely “I serve you, you take it or leave it”. Then we moved on to “I give you a choice, pick your poison”. Then we went to “You tell me what you want, I give you”. Later we swan through “Whoa.. they’re talking. *eavesdrop* Hmm.. that’s what they want. There you go, fellas; FREE!”. In the end, we end up in “I’ll TRY to find out what you want + eavesdrop + research + optimize + market + trying so damn hard to impress, and there you go! FREE FREE FREE!!!!”.
Elioe.com sees the future as to: “I think I want this.. let’s open the computer…” *Bzzzzt… Ding dong!* “Whoa! The computer knows that I want! Is he a mind reader or what? No, I don’t think so. I heard in the news they were saying they compiled human behavioral analysis data and predicts what the user wants in accordance to data collecting over the past 10 minutes of my activity…”
Yes, we’re working on that technology. We’re far behind, because data is never enough. You think those guys from the Hollywood-driven movie Criminal Minds BAU unit can be computerized? Let’s see how we evolve over the years, shall we?
Q&A
Q: Do you plan to have a blog in the future?
A: We may. It really depends on what we want to serve our audience and the community at that particular moment.
Q: Don’t you think this is a wrong move, for both users and search engines?
A: We need both robots and users to understand us. However, the importance of users as to robots is 10:1. So no, it’s not a wrong move.
Q: What about people who don’t get what you do?
A: If they’re REALLY curious, they’ll sure know how to ask us the 5 Ws’.
Q: What makes you think such concept of Elioe.com will be adapted in the future?
A: We don’t. We just want to bring the concept in, show it to people and if they like it, we’ll be more than happy to help them.
Q: Can you compare Elioe.com to a micro-twitter site?
A: If you look at that perspective, yes. But twitter is limited to 140 chars, while ours is one 625px picture and two paragraphs of words.
Q: When you say that perspective, what do you mean?
A: Individuals look at things at their own perspectives - Most likely only one-way: Their own pace, their own influence. So if you ask me if Elioe.com is somewhat a Twitter-driven site, you can say so. But to us, it’s more less talk more action.
Q: Some have claimed your site is very one-sided. No feedbacks, comments or responses allowed publicly. No transparency. What say you?
A: As again, in their own perspective. We’ve eliminated much commercial content, serve only the most important points. We want the user to read shortly, understand quickly, if interested, talk to us directly. If there are any responses wanted publicly, it’s at the sole discretion of the author of the post and sender of the email/message. We don’t hide things.
Q: So Elioe.com is more of a corporate website?
A: It’s a mixed of corporate website, individual professional portfolio and personal talk to the face method.
Q: When Elioe.com claims to get personal, how is that?
A: As again, blogs are like books. Just that it’s virtual, and people can discuss about it openly. But the discussion point is at the sole discretion of the publisher. People don’t want to sieve through 100 items in a menu at a restaurant to pick their poison, so why don’t we cut the crap and just serve pointers that are most crucial? After all, that’s what fast communication is all about.
Q: You’re not serious about the getting married in Youtube, are you? Like the symphony orchestra.
A: Haha! That’ll be what you call extra-special. If orchestras’ can play together on Youtube why can’t people get married there, too? After all, it’s a medium and two celebrations can be done at the same time. Hell, you don’t even need Youtube. All you need is a cam, Internet connectivity and two celebrations.
